SOUTH JORDAN, UT – April 22, 2024 – Join us for an Arbor Day Celebration at South Jordan City Park on April 26, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.! South Jordan City invites residents to participate in a tree planting event and pick up free wood mulch for their yards. Residents will gather at South Jordan City Park to plant trees around the pickleball courts. Free wood mulch, derived from pruned street trees contributed by residents last fall, will be available for collection at the event. Approximately 90 cubic yards of mulch was created from residents’ donated branches, 30 of which will be available during the event. The remainder will circle the trees at City Park.
Mayor Dawn Ramsey and city officials will be present to welcome and engage with attendees and to talk with the news media.
The Arbor Day Celebration aims to promote community involvement, encourage tree planting, and provide residents with sustainable solutions for yard maintenance. South Jordan has had the Tree City designation since 2012 and maintains roughly 9,000 trees.
