South Jordan, Utah — Mayor Dawn R. Ramsey hosted her 2nd Annual State of the City Address in a panel-style discussion on January 15, 2025, sharing key updates on the city’s growth, partnerships, and vision for the future.

The panel featured discussions with Jenny Wilson, Salt Lake County Mayor; Amanda Covington, Larry H. Miller Corporation Chief Corporate Affairs Officer; Beth Holbrook, Utah Transit Authority Trustee; and Susan Pulsipher, a recently retired State Legislator.

“This is an exciting and transformative time in South Jordan’s history,” said Mayor Ramsey. “I am sincerely grateful for the trust placed in me and our other elected leaders and for the expertise of our amazing staff as we work tirelessly to preserve what makes South Jordan so special while creating opportunities to make it even better.”

Key topics included:

  • The Ballpark at America First Square: Opening April 2025, the state-of-the-art, privately funded home of the Salt Lake Bees.
  • New TRAX Red Line Stop: Mayor Ramsey celebrated the accelerated opening of a new UTA TRAX Red Line stop, located steps from The Ballpark and Plaza.
  • LHM Megaplex and Plaza: Attendees learned about the upcoming LHM Megaplex Family Entertainment Center and Plaza, which will include shopping, dining, an amphitheater, a playground, and a winter ice rink.
  • South Valley Performing Arts Center: Breaking ground in 2026, thanks to a partnership with Salt Lake County and the Larry H. Miller Family Foundation.
  •  Lap Lanes at South Jordan Recreation Center: A three-way partnership between Salt Lake County, South Jordan City, and the Jordan School District will bring new lap lanes to the South Jordan Fitness and Aquatic Center, benefiting residents and student-athletes.

“Our micro-economy is strong, and we are committed to our promise of being a business-friendly city, allowing for economic development that will keep taxes low as we maintain our high service levels and ensure our continued quality of life,” Mayor Ramsey said.
