Is Your Dog Licensed? Here’s What You Need to Know

Home Posted on July 22, 2025

Did you know all dogs in South Jordan must be licensed annually? It's an easy step that helps keep pets safe and supports responsible pet ownership in our community.

To apply, you’ll need an updated rabies vaccination record (or a note from your vet if vaccination isn’t possible). After submitting the online form, a bill will be mailed to you. Once paid, you’ll receive your dog’s license tag by mail.

Annual Licensing Fees:

  • Altered Dog – $10
  •  Unaltered Dog – $35
  •  Senior Citizen Rate (Age 65+, altered dog) – $5

Note: Seniors must apply in person at City Hall with a valid ID to receive the discounted rate. Do not use the online form for senior discounts.

Key Reminders:

  • Dogs must wear their license tag at all times.
  • Each household is limited to two dogs over four months old.
  • Licensing helps ensure rabies vaccinations are up to date and that your pet can be identified if lost.
