South Jordan City Rebates

South Jordan City, with the support of Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, is providing residents the opportunity to apply for rebate programs that encourage water conservation indoors and outdoors. The South Jordan Water Conservation programs provide rebates once the requirements are met. Grass Removal Rebates require an inspection before any grass is removed.

South Jordan City Water Conservation Rebate Programs are only valid for residents within South Jordan City boundaries.

Utah Water Savers

Other Landscape Incentives and Smart Controller rebates are provided through Utah Water Savers. South Jordan Residents can take advantage of both City Rebates/Programs and Utah Water Savers Incentives. Each program requires a separate inspection to be eligible. City rebate application can be found below. Utah Water Savers (UWS) application can be found on the UWS website link above.

Program Instructions:

  • Step One: Fill out Grass Removal Rebate Application below. A conservation technician will reach out to schedule an inspection via email. Once the inspection has been completed and project approved, the grass and dirt will need to be removed down to ~3 inches below the top of the sidewalk/curb. Using a sod cutter is typically the easiest way to remove the grass. The program begins April 15th each year.

Grass Removal Rebates Application

  • Step Two: Email or call as soon as the grass and dirt has been removed to set up the next appointment for South Jordan City to inspect the strip and deliver a drip-system conversion kit and weed barrier roll. You will be shown how to install the materials. During this same step you will purchase Water-Wise, Drought Resistant plants which will cover 50% of the parkstrip at full-growth (and not be over 24” tall). You get up to $300 for the reimbursement of the plants (receipt as proof required). To complete step 2 and receive the rock, you will need the water-wise plants in the ground and the drip kit/weed barrier installed.
  • Step Three: Once the drip-kit, weed barrier and plants are installed, email or call to set up final appointment for the rock to be delivered. Rock will not be dropped unless the plants are in the ground, and the dripkit/weed barrier is installed. Typically, deliveries are about a week out on the schedule. Rock is delivered Monday-Thursday each week, excluding holidays. There is a deadline of October 15th each year to deliver the rock by.
  • Step Four: Once the plants, drip-kit, weed barrier, and rock have all been installed, you will need to fill out the Grass Removal Rebate Submission Form, including the 3 required forms of documentation for the plant rebate. Required items: the “before” and “after” pictures showing grass and the completed strip, the receipts for the plants, and the Flip Your Strip PDF forms filled out front and back. Once all 3 items of documentation are received, the rebate can be processed and mailed in the form of a check. Rebate process times are 4-6 weeks from when the work is completed and the rebate documentation is submitted.
