[ARCHIVED] Still Wondering When You Will Get Google Fiber

Tractor with street cutter cutting a slit in the road to install the Google Fiber lines

Google Fiber construction crews are about to hit the streets again to bring service to more areas in South Jordan.

What is the status of Google Fiber in South Jordan?

Construction began spring of last year, with pauses for winter weather. Roughly 30 percent of South Jordan is either in process, completed (finished construction), or permits have been issued and construction is about to begin. It is anticipated that fiber installation will be completed this fall. View our interactive map to see where they are currently in South Jordan.

When will Google Fiber Service be Available in My Neighborhood?

Once construction is complete, service is not available right away. It takes Google time to connect lines to their grid. The Google Fiber website allows you to see where service is available and sign up for email updates.

What if I have a question or concern with the Construction in front of my house?

Google has provided a Construction Line at (877) 454-6959, that lets you get in contact with the crew in the area.

With the weather getting warmer, the construction pace will pick up. Residents can expect construction activities between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily. In most cases, block-by-block construction is completed in less than a week upon entering your neighborhood. However, sometimes construction will take longer, depending on a variety of factors. Notifications such as door hangers at your home and “no parking” signs and cones are in place at least two days before work begins. Signs will be removed within one day of completing construction. Some homes will see an in-ground vault placed in the softscape or on the sidewalks of the City’s right-of-way. These vaults are critical to bringing fiber to homes. All vault placements include restoration of the adjacent ground.
