[ARCHIVED] Shields Lane Development Study Open House

The Shields Lane Solutions Development Study will hold its second project Open House on Wednesday, September 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the South Jordan City Hall Aspen Conference Room (in the basement). The project team and Stakeholder Committee have been busy developing potential alternative concepts for Shields Lane to present to the public for consideration. We would love to get your feedback on these ideas and discuss them with you.

The Shields Lane Solutions Development Study will develop a vision for the future of the Shield’s Lane corridor (9800 South). Shield's Lane is a popular route for east/west bike and pedestrian travel within South Jordan. It provides access to two elementary schools and one middle school fronting the route, as well as several future north-south trails and other important destinations. The South Jordan General Plan highlights the importance of improving active transportation conditions on Shield’s Lane, east-west bike travel, and active lifestyles. The Shield's Lane Solutions Development Study seeks to identify future solutions for the street with these critical functions in mind.

The study is being led by a project team of South Jordan City staff, Wasatch Front Regional Council staff, and consultant firms and a Stakeholder Committee comprised of City leadership, residents, additional City staff, school and business representatives, and regional transportation agencies.

We anticipate the study will run through the end of the year and will include opportunities throughout for public engagement and input. In addition to the Open House on September 25 (see above), find us online at shieldslane.com, where you can learn about the project and provide input on the study.

We look forward to you participating in this important project!
