This beautiful artwork is a visual time capsule, preserving important historical elements that resonate with South Jordan residents. Featured prominently is Mabel Nelson, lovingly known as “Aunt Mame.” She was a beloved figure of the Holt Homestead, famously sending visitors home with hugs, candy, and bags of popcorn. South Jordan’s baseball legacy is also highlighted, dating back to 1883 with the local “Red Gales” team. Today, this tradition of America’s pastime continues with the arrival of the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees in 2025.

Other notable features include a nod to South Jordan’s Fire Department, which began as a volunteer operation in 1977, originally run out of a modest gas station. The dedication of leaders like Gary L. Whatcott, who led the fire department’s transformation and later became City Manager, is honored by naming the South Jordan Public Safety Building after him.

These captivating snapshots of South Jordan’s history, from the White Fawn Flour Mill to the Heritage Park Splash Pad, have been immortalized in this one-of-a-kind Dowdle puzzle. Whether you’re a history buff or simply enjoy a good puzzle, this piece offers a cherished opportunity to bring South Jordan’s story into your home.
